Viruses are spreading so fast, that all Anti Virus engines have a time problem. They are delivering updates of their signatures within hours or days. And viruses are spreading much faster. So normally every GroupWise customer (even if he has whatever gatewaysolution or even GWAVA) will get virus problems within their groupwise system. GWAVA is the only solution, which could clean the GroupWise system by doing a POA scan through the entire database of GroupWise. Novell as an example in the US got about 46 different viruses in October last year and they have different systems in front of their GW server to fight against viruses.
